Description
3Dresyn LMM Perfect Cast PC2 is our Heat Soluble / Meltable Flowable & Castable solid photopolymer for printing castings for Jewelry by Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing LMM
Features and benefits:
- photoreactive spreadable butter-like 3D resin paste for printing castings, with excellent viscosity decrease upon heating before printing
- photoreactive ultra high viscosity 3D resin for Direct investment Casting "DC" which melts above 100-200ºC, flowing like real wax after printing*
- once printed by LMM it has low melt viscosity upon heating flowing like molten wax* for easy removal by gravity from the investment mold in the upside down position for 100% ash free burn-out
- bio based from renewable resources: >75-80% bio content
- monomer free as supplied for ultra safe handling and printing
- supplied in clear and cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white colors
- ideal for both relatively thick prints and filigree ultra fine detailed printing
- nearly solid 3D resin as supplied which becomes a flexible thermoplastic solid after printing melting like wax
- thermoplastic with melting temperature range after printing and postcuring: >100-200ºC*
- typical printing speeds at different printing settings:
- exposure times <20-25 seconds for 50 microns z layers with medium power 4-8 mW/cm2 LMM printers
- exposure times <10-15 seconds for 50 microns z layers with high power >10-15 mW/cm2 LMM printers
- prints can be cleaned in warm Cleaning Fluid UNW2 Bio
- Shore hardness D55-65
- tensile and flexural strength <4 MPa
- Young modulus <60 MPa
- elongation <1-2%
- postcuring is not required
- castable with excellent burn-out without any imperfections even with cheap gypsums
- easy and clean burn-out with 0% residual ash content
- Heat Deflection Temperature HDT after curing c.25-30ºC@0.45MPa
- no shrinkage during 3D printing (<1%)
- elimination of molten prints* by gravity off the mold for perfect castings
- prints are 100% soluble in acetone
- no shrinkage and no expansion during burn out
- durability of the resin tank
- organo-tin free
- Typical viscosity:
- <90.000 mPas at 25ºC: poor flow and very sticky
- <30.000 mPas at 30ºC: medium flow and very sticky
- <10.000 mPas at 35ºC: good flow but sticky
- <7000 mPas at 40ºC: very good flow but still stick
- <2500 mPas at 45ºC: very good flow with lower stickiness
- <800 mPas at 60ºC: excellent flow with reduced stickiness
- <400 mPas at 65ºC: excellent flow with minor stickiness
*Note. depending on Fine Tuner type, its dosage, printing and postcuring specifications, including light wavelength, power and total energy dosage the melting temperature range can vary and be >100-200ºC or higher. In some cases prints at high temperature may rather thermally degrade and burn out instead of melting. In any case, perfect casts without imperfections are obtained.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE IFU
- The higher the temperature the lower the viscosity and stickiness but the lower the rigidity of prints during printing
- Excessive light exposure may reduce melt flow and cause that the prints become rubbery upon heating, thermally degrading and burning out instead of melting. In any case, perfect casts without imperfections are obtained
CLEANING
- Prints can be decaked by liquefying at 65ºC the uncured resin
- Rinse parts thoroughly in warm Cleaning Fluid UNW2 Bio for easy removal of uncured resin
POSTCURING
- Light postcuring is not required nor recommended
- Light postcuring in a light box will increase the cure and melting point
- Excessive light exposure may reduce melt flow and cause that the prints become rubbery upon heating, thermally degrading and burning out instead of fully melting with low melt viscosity. In any case, perfect casts are obtained
INVESTMENT CASTING
- Since the material may melt or degrade thermally, any gypsum or phosphate investment can be used
- Position it upside down initially for its elimination as a molten liquid by gravity
- Position it upright for its total ash free elimination
